The famous futurist painter Fortunato Depero celebrated Serrada not only in his canvas, but also with his pen.

Just 20 km from the city of Trento and Rovereto, Lavarone plateau (25.8 sq. km – 1176 m s l m) is a pleasing alternation of large plains, woods, clearings, ridges and pastures framed by the shores of the lake.
The name does not identify a specific place, but in the entire plateau we can highlight three major centers around which are arranged various small fractional centers. They are original and magic heritages of the rural farmsteads of Cimbrian origin.
Lavarone can be a summer but also winter tourist resort, which is able to combine the need to relax and vacation, with the dynamism of its sports facilities.
A few kilometers from Serrada, there is the wonderful flagship of the territory: a lake which is located at 1079 meters above sea level where you can relax and spend a day sunbathing or fishing.
The Lavarone’s Lake has a maximum depth of 17 meters and for its mild climate and the particular purity of its waters, it is an important element of tourist attraction. In summer, always in June, it hosts the important Triathlon Olympic Champion while in winter, by freezing, becomes an opportunity for learning the technique of saving under the ice.
You can arrive there by car or by public transport.
A legend tells that in the area where is the lake today, it existed anciently a blooming forest, owned by two brothers. But one day, they clashed with a sharp lite for the property of the same. God, who was assisting, was disappointed and irritated by the hard argument and so punished the two boys sinking the woodland of the animosity and filling with water the deep pit of fir trees.
The Great War is also written in these mountains. There are still seven austro-hungarian fortresses with many war finds that witness the battles and the clashes between the Italian and Austrian troops.
Stories and images are imprinted in the minds and bring to light our recent history. This can an exciting itinerary that is not only a cultural witness, but above all an invitation for the peace among peoples.
